Ashes into Beauty

When all that’s left are ashes grey,
And dreams have slowly burned away,
When hope feels lost in sorrow’s night,
And faith grows dim without its light—

When life seems dry, no joy to taste,
And every moment feels like waste,
When prayers feel weak, and heaven far,
And wounds remain just as they are—

Remember this—though flames have been,
And left behind what might have been,
The fire that took what you once knew,
Has not consumed God’s love for you.

For Abraham, in humble plea,
Said, “Dust and ashes, Lord, am I.”
And Job, though broken, bowed his head,
Repented low where sorrow led.

The Psalmist wept with heavy breath,
As ashes marked his grief and depth,
Yet through it all, one truth remained—
God’s faithful love had not been drained.

Oh hear me now, don’t heed the lie,
That whispers softly, “Give up… die,”
The enemy would steal your breath—
But Christ has conquered sin and death.

Your God still reigns upon the throne,
You are not lost, nor left alone,
Through every trial, every test,
His presence holds you, gives you rest.

Bring Him the ashes of your soul,
The shattered parts that once were whole,
For He can turn your darkest night,
Into a dawn of golden light.

He trades your grief for garments fair,
A robe of praise instead of care,
Turns mourning cries to songs once more,
And opens wide a brighter door.

So, kneel, like saints of days gone by,
With tear-filled heart and lifted cry,
For in His hands, your pain will be—
Transformed to strength and victory.

Yes, from the ashes you now see,
Will rise His work—His beauty.
