Poem -Psalm Chapter 35
Psalm 35 โ โThe Lord My Defenderโ
When enemies rise and speak with lies,
And storms surround my soul,
I lift my eyes unto the skies,
For God is in control.
They dug a pit before my feet,
They mocked me in my pain,
But still the Lord remains my shield,
My refuge in the rain.
โO fight for me,โ the Psalmist cried,
โStand with me in this war,โ
For those who trust the Living God
Are never left forsworn.
Though false accusers gather round
Like wolves in darkest night,
The Lord of Hosts shall still arise
And fight the righteous fight.
When I was weak, I prayed for them,
I mourned when they were low,
Yet hatred came in place of love,
A bitter seed to sow.
But God who sees the secret heart
Will judge with holy flame,
And every tongue that speaks deceit
Shall bow before His name.
So I will praise the Lord aloud
Before the great and small,
For He delivers weary souls
Who upon His mercy call.
The battle may be fierce and long,
The tears may freely fall,
Yet God remains the strong defense,
The highest tower of all.
So trust the Lord in troubled days,
Though fear may fill the land,
For Psalm Thirty-Five still declares:
The righteous in Him stand.
