POEM

Hereโ€™s a rhyming poem based on Psalm 6

A Cry in the Night โ€” Psalm 6

O Lord, rebuke me not in wrath,
Nor turn me from Thy mercyโ€™s path,
For I am weak, my strength is gone,
My soul feels troubled all night long.

Have mercy, Lord, I cry to Thee,
Restore my heart, and set me free,
My bones are vexed, my spirit sore,
I cannot bear this pain much more.

โ€œHow long, O Lord?โ€ my voice does say,
โ€œHow long must I endure this way?โ€
Return, my God, draw near once more,
And lift me from this troubled floor.

Not for my worth, nor what Iโ€™ve done,
But for the sake of Christ, Thy Son,
For in Thy mercy lies my plea,
O Lord, in love remember me.

My nights are filled with tears that fall,
My pillow hears my grieving call,
My eyes grow dim with all this pain,
As sorrow falls like heavy rain.

My enemies rejoice to see
The broken state that troubles me,
Yet still I cry, though worn and weak,
For Thou, O Lord, dost hear the meek.

Then comes a change within my soul,
A quiet peace begins to roll,
โ€œThe Lord has heard my weeping cry,โ€
No longer shall I faint or sigh.

He hears my prayer, He knows my plea,
And turns my night to victory,
My foes shall flee, ashamed, dismayed,
For God has heard the prayers Iโ€™ve prayed.

So though I weep through darkest night,
The morning brings His healing light,
For every tear that falls in pain,
The Lord shall turn to joy again.

GOD IS A GOOD GOD
