Jesus Is Lord

Jesus is Lord, the Scriptures proclaim,
Wonderful Counsellor—glorious Name.
The Mighty God, the Prince of Peace,
His kingdom stands and will not cease.

All power rests upon His hand,
No throne like His in any land.
His rule is just, His truth is sure,
Forever settled, firm, and pure.

Yet how His name is used today,
So lightly spoken, cast away.
Not lifted high in love and praise,
But turned to shame in careless ways.

I sat one day in a crowded place,
And sorrow filled my heart with grace.
For children heard what should not be,
Words spoken without purity.

A mother spoke with no restraint,
No reverence, no fear of the Saint.
Her little ones sat listening near,
Learning words they ought not hear.

Is this the world we’ve come to know?
Where truth is dim and standards low?
Would words be changed if saints walked in?
Or do we hide what lies within?

The law of God is clear and true,
Not made to burden me and you.
But given in His love and care,
To guide our hearts and make us fair.

Some may say, “There’s worse than this,”
Yet still we should not treat it amiss.
For every word and every deed
Is like a planted, growing seed.

Jesus loves, yet hates all sin,
He sees the heart, He looks within.
He paid the price on Calvary’s tree,
To set the lost and broken free.

He did not come to cast away,
But bring us life, a brighter day.
That all who turn and call His name
Might find His love, His saving flame.

So guard your lips and guard them well,
Let truth and grace within you dwell.
Teach every child the righteous way,
To honour God in all they say.

Lift high His name, let all declare,
The love of God is everywhere.
For through it all, both near and far—

GOD KNOWS who you are.
GOD LOVES you still.
GOD CARES—He always will.
