Poem Jesus Building His Church
Hereโs an original rhyming poem based on Matthew 16:18 and the truth behind it:
The Church He Builds
Upon no sand, nor shifting ground,
But truth where living faith is found,
He spoke with power, calm yet still,
โMy Church I buildโMy sovereign will.โ
No hand of man could lay this frame,
No crown of earth could claim its name,
For Christ alone, the Cornerstone,
Has made His people all His own.
The gates of hell may darkly stand,
With iron bars and cruel command,
Yet gates donโt march, nor wars they winโ
They guard the fear that dwells within.
But see! The Church moves strong and bright,
With truth, with grace, with heavenโs light,
It storms the night, breaks every chain,
And calls the lost to live again.
Though kingdoms rise and fall like dust,
And men betray their sacred trust,
Still Christ remains, His word is sure,
His Church stands firm, His love secure.
No flame can burn, no grave can hold,
What God has built with hands of gold,
For death itself was overthrown,
The day He rose and claimed His throne.
So let the storm and darkness swell,
Let every voice of doubt rebel,
The Church shall stand through every ageโ
God writes its story, page by page.
And when the final trumpet sounds,
And glory wraps the earth around,
The gates once feared shall fade awayโ
For Christ has won the final day.
