The Giver and Forgiver — A Poem

There are hearts that always take,

And never stop for mercy’s sake,

They see the good, yet still complain,

And turn their blessing into pain.

Put them in halls both grand and fair,

With golden walls and beauty rare,

Yet still they’ll find some fault to see—

For discontent lives inwardly.

But there’s a heart the Lord holds dear,

That gives with love, sincere and clear,

Not counting cost, nor seeking praise,

But walking in His humble ways.

For God loves those whose hands are wide,

Not closed in self, nor filled with pride,

Who give as Christ so freely gave,

To lift the lost, the weak to save.

And more than this—the higher call,

To forgive those who cause the fall,

To let go hurt, release the chain,

And not return back wrong for pain.

The giver shines with heaven’s light,

The forgiver walks in God’s sight,

For both reflect the Saviour’s grace,

And show His love in every place.

So let us not just take and live,

But learn the greater way—to give,

And when we’re wronged, still choose to be

A soul that walks in mercy free.

God loves the giver and the forgiver.

God is a good God — God knows, God loves, and God cares. 🌿
