In Eden fair where beauty grew,
Where morning walked with heaven’s dew,
A whisper came, so soft, so sly,
A serpent’s voice, a subtle lie.
“Did God say no? Did God forbid?”
He twisted truth, as tempters did,
“For you shall rise, your eyes shall see,
And like your God, enlightened be.”
The fruit was fair, it pleased the eye,
A promise wrapped within a lie,
She took and ate, then Adam too,
And all they knew was changed from true.
Their innocence fell to the ground,
As shame and fear were quickly found,
They hid among the trees in dread,
From God whose voice once comfort spread.
“Where are you now?” the Lord did call,
Not lost to Him—but lost in fall,
“The woman gave,” said Adam then,
And blame took root in hearts of men.
The serpent cursed to crawl the dust,
The earth now marked with toil and rust,
Through pain and sweat, through grief and strife,
Would flow the days of human life.
Yet in the midst of judgment sure,
A promise stands, forever pure,
A seed would come, the serpent fall,
A Saviour sent to rescue all.
From Eden’s gate with sword aflame,
They left the place from where they came,
But hope was lit, though man had sinned—
God’s love would call him back again.
God is a good God — God knows, God loves, and God cares. 🌿GOD IS A GOOD GOD
