Psalm 10 – Explained (Clear and Simple)

Psalm 10 is a deep and honest cry to God when it feels like evil people are getting away with everything. It speaks about injustice, suffering, and the question many people ask:

“God, where are You?”

1. The Cry: “Why do You stand far off?” (Verses 1–2)

The psalm begins with confusion and pain.
It feels like God is distant while the wicked are hurting others.

it is real faith being honest with God.

2. The Character of the Wicked (Verses 3–11)

The writer describes what evil people are like:

• Proud and arrogant
• Boasting in their desires
• Ignoring God completely
• Taking advantage of the weak and helpless
• Thinking: “God will never see this”

They act as if they are untouchable.

👉 This reflects a world where wrong seems to prosper.

3. The Turning Point: A Prayer for Justice (Verses 12–15)

The tone shifts.

The psalmist stops describing the problem and starts calling on God:

• “Arise, Lord!”
• “Lift up Your hand!”
• “Do not forget the humble!”

He recognises something powerful:

👉 God does see every injustice—even when it looks hidden.

4. The Confidence: God Reigns (Verses 16–18)

The psalm ends with faith:

• God is King forever
• He hears the cry of the humble
• He defends the fatherless and oppressed
• He will bring justice

What Psalm 10 Means for Us

1. It’s OK to Ask “Why?”

God allows honest questions. Faith doesn’t mean pretending everything is fine.

2. God Sees What Others Don’t

No injustice is hidden from Him—even when people think they’ve gotten away with it.

3. God Cares for the Weak

This psalm highlights God’s heart for:

• The poor
• The oppressed
• The forgotten

4. Justice Will Come

It may feel delayed—but it is never denied.
