Psalm 10 โ Explained (Clear and Simple)
Psalm 10 is a deep and honest cry to God when it feels like evil people are getting away with everything. It speaks about injustice, suffering, and the question many people ask:
โGod, where are You?โ
1. The Cry: โWhy do You stand far off?โ (Verses 1โ2)
The psalm begins with confusion and pain.
It feels like God is distant while the wicked are hurting others.
๐ This is not lack of faithโ
it is real faith being honest with God.
2. The Character of the Wicked (Verses 3โ11)
The writer describes what evil people are like:
- Proud and arrogant
- Boasting in their desires
- Ignoring God completely
- Taking advantage of the weak and helpless
- Thinking:ย โGod will never see thisโ
They act as if they are untouchable.
๐ This reflects a world where wrong seems to prosper.
3. The Turning Point: A Prayer for Justice (Verses 12โ15)
The tone shifts.
The psalmist stops describing the problem and starts calling on God:
- โArise, Lord!โ
- โLift up Your hand!โ
- โDo not forget the humble!โ
He recognises something powerful:
๐ God does see every injusticeโeven when it looks hidden.
4. The Confidence: God Reigns (Verses 16โ18)
The psalm ends with faith:
- God is King forever
- He hears the cry of the humble
- He defends the fatherless and oppressed
- He will bring justice
๐ Even when evil seems strong,
God has the final word.
What Psalm 10 Means for Us
1. Itโs OK to Ask โWhy?โ
God allows honest questions. Faith doesnโt mean pretending everything is fine.
2. God Sees What Others Donโt
No injustice is hidden from Himโeven when people think theyโve gotten away with it.
3. God Cares for the Weak
This psalm highlights Godโs heart for:
- The poor
- The oppressed
- The forgotten
4. Justice Will Come
It may feel delayedโbut it is never denied.
In One Simple Line
๐ Psalm 10 teaches us that even when God seems silent, He sees everything, cares deeply, and will bring justice in His perfect time.
